Fun fact: ‘In the 1500s, fashion designers showed off their clothing by putting it on miniature dolls. There were no such thing as models until 1853.’
Bayan of the Baarin from the series Marco Polo describes Kung Fu as supreme skill from hard work – that is to say mastering one’s craft. This is something that everyone aspires towards. A person with great style can also be said to have Kung Fu.
Welcome to my journey towards becoming a style icon, I promise to make it worth your while or at least try.
Being naturally introverted, clothes have been a way to express myself through personal style. My dress sense is a direct reflection of how I feel at that particular moment in time, how I want to feel and how I want people to perceive me.
Here are some of the things that I try to adhere to when choosing an outfit for an occasion
- Fit – Directly affects how the clothes you wear appear on you, and how you feel wearing them. The right fit can make or break an outfit.
- Comfort – I find that there is a direct correlation between the level of comfort when wearing an outfit and how it looks on you.
- Mood – Guys, you know that feeling when you get that loud trim and it gasses you up to a point that you feel like you’d look nice in anything… Yeah, I see you. In such an instance, my outfit choice would be more adventurous and not necessarily playing by the books, so to speak.
- Theme – The theme narrows down to the type of day I am planning or event I am looking to attend.
Why did I choose to buy this outfit?
We are at that time of the year where the weather is not as cold and the sun is coming out a lot more – although we have a few unpredictable spats here and there. But hey its England, right, what do you expect.
I picked this outfit base on the theme I had in mind; last days of spring. My choice was propagated by drawing inspiration from colours that embed the essence of spring.
PANTONE 16-4120 Dusk Blue
Dusk Blue is a subtly warm colour suggestive of the clear blue sky above. This shade of blue gives an undeniable sense of dependability and unrelenting calm giving a safe place to retreat to quiet blue calm.
PANTONE 14-4102 Glacier Grey
Glacier Grey is an unobtrusive grey that both contrasts and enhances; bouncing off other shades without taking away from them as it slips into the background to allow other colours take centre stage.
Hat and Shoes touch on neutral colours allowing them to complement this look perfectly.
What Aftershave 🤔 ?
Zara Unshakable – This is a brilliant candidate for a daily fragrance with its sweet-fresh scent. It comes in a 100ml bottle and guess what? It is quite affordable as well. Here are some of its ingredients: Laurel – Lavender – Patchouli – Cedar – Vanilla.
I’ll leave you with this
‘Style has many faces. Don’t be afraid to take risk and step out of your comfort zone.’
